Nsenene 11-0 Namungoona

Seldom does an individual stand out of the entire crowd to personally inject a fortune where he less expects to yield. Allan Ssewanyana of Nsenene is perhaps one such in thousands with that personality. The Kampala Lord Councillor, who represents Makindye Division in the City Council is one of the major sponsors of his Clan-Nsenene, which literally means Grass-hoppers. The recipe for his investment in the clan was a 11-nil goals gift from his boys.

Nsenene on Wedesday evening set a tournament record of most goals scored so far this year in one single game as they walloped a hapless Namungoona side, 11 goals to nil. Live wire striker, Fred Kalanzi scored four times before James Nsonga, Henry Kalanzi and Edison Mpagi recorded a brace a piece and exciting left winger Fred Nkata sealed 10 man Namungoona’s fate with a well drilled strike. Each of the Bika goal scorer was thus rewarded Ug sh. 10,000 cash for his effort courtesy of Kyosimba Onanya Ceremonial Services.

Nsenene, who are on  a quest for their maiden title bettered 5 time Bika Champions, Lugave’s 10-1 goals over little known Kayozi a week back. Their awesome exhibition of a free flowing game of football was a joy to watch for the partisan crowd that turned up at Nakivubo Stadium but an envy for the rival clans. The scoreline would definately have looked otherwise had both sides converted their penalty spots won in regulation time.

Namungoona finished the game on 10 men after the day’s center Referee, Bob Omollo gave marching orders to Edirisa Muyanja for unsporting behaviour after a deliberate and malicious foul on dangerman, Fred Nkata.

Nsenene thus books a second round test as they play 1996 and 2006 champions, Mpindi on 14 th August 2013. Action resumes on Thursday as Videao Anyau coached Mbogo face Nyange. The winner of the tie will face Nvubu on August 13th at Nakivubo Stadium.
