Kick-off at various Host Clubs
Following the successful completion of the first round of the various National Pool leagues, the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) is once again in the sporting limelight, this time round with the Clubs Knock-out tournament. This tournament is set to begin on Sunday, August 4th at the various homes of the host clubs.
“We expect a record number of clubs to participate in this home and away event meant to unearth more local talents”, reveals Michael Mawanda, the PAU publicity secretary.
In some of the opening men’s fixtures, Rock Catalina hosts Isabella at their Ntinda based home, Indingo will host Volts, Nakawa Pool Rangers hosts Skin Samona, Lubiri Pub hosts Ewaffe pub while Vipper House hosts Kyadalu.
The ladies opening matches will witness Kyadalu hosting Skin Samona, Indigo play host to Transformer and Lumas will play Perfection, among many other matches.
The event, whose winner in the men’s category will pocket Ug.shs 1,000,000 and Ug.shs 500,000 in the ladies category. The team that emerges the best over the two legs qualifies to the next round.
The tourney is sponsored Pool Association of Uganda, Be-Mobile and Eclipse.
Prizes (Men): 1st-1,000,000/=, 2nd- 500,000/= and 3rd- 250,000/=
Women: 500,000/=, 2nd- 250,000/= and 3rd- 125,000/=
