Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) is set to play various fixtures in Nairobi at the East African Military Games. Uganda basketball, football, handball and netball teams are all set for action at the games.

Uganda plays Burundi in basketball, handball and Netball, with a date against Tanzania in the football game.

UPDF Netball team will hope to improve their goal scoring margin and pray Kenya beats Tanzania to claim table leadership and take gold. On the football scene, Uganda has two draws off Kenya and Burundi and an anticipated win over the log winners, Tanzania will see the Ugandan Army footballers claim the top mantle.

In handball, the 2011 defending champions Burundi haven’t won a game this time around while it’s a different story for Uganda who hasn’t lost a game as well. It was the other way round in 2011 and Burundi has promised to come out strong to atleast come out with Bronze. Uganda on the other hand wants try to prove to all that Gold is possible this year. Uganda has so far beaten Rwanda’s APR and Tanzania’s TPDF and as of now they top the table with Kenya the hosts, coming second.

This will be an easier game for the Ugandans against inexperienced Burundi side. This will be a matter of scoring many goals and pray that Kenya beats Tanzania for any hope of Gold for the Ugandan team. Tanzania has won this championship ever since its inauguration in 2005.
