Ndejje Angels Vs Riham Warriors 8:30pm
Despite being without four of their best players, Ndejje University Angels blew out Charging Rhinos 80-61 on Friday. Brian Ouma stepped up with game high 22 points to lead Angels (8-4). Riham Warriors meanwhile saw off KIU Titans’ fourth quarter come back for a 75-70 win on the same night. Guard, Ivan Enabu led the way for Warriors (10-2) with 17 points, 12 coming from the foul line.
The university and the defending champions will be back on the floor tonight for the second round match up. Enabu and the Warriors seek their seventh successive win when they face Ndejje at the MTN Arena.
Sylvian Yunzu scored season high 10 points against KIU, his first time to score in double figures since joining Warriors. The shooting guard hit two of the three long range attempts.
Warriors beat Ndejje 60-53 behind Henry Malinga’s 14 and Ronnie Kasewu’s 13 points but Ivan Enabu’s throws were the difference.
Geoffrey Soro, Jonah Otim, Steven Okias and Brian Sentongo may return for the university side.
In the women’s division, KCCA Leopards will look to rebound from the 42-50 shock loss to KIU Rangers on Sunday when they face Magic Stormers.
Leopards (10-2) have beaten Stormers (8-5) in the previous two meeting s this season. Flavia Oketcho, Martha Soigi and Claire Lamunu led Leopards through the two wins but the absence of Soigi and Lamunu saw the defending champions drop their second game of the season.
Stormers have won the last two game and all their losses have come against KCCA and UCU.
