Thirty two countries have so far confirmed their participation for the FIVB Kampala Beach Volleyball Open that is expected to swing off on September 24 at the UMA parking in Lugogo
The Kampala event is the second biggest event on the FIVB calendar after the World Championship.
Eddie Okila, the House of Talent Boss said there has been very positive response and both men and female teams will be in action for the Castle Lite sponsored tournament.
“We have received very overwhelming response from the countries. A total of 72 and 49 teams from the men and women categories respectively,” he said.
The Championship is organised by House of Talent and Uganda will be the first African Country before South Africa to host the World Beach Volleyball open slated for late next month.
The countries confirmed are Uganda, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Czec Republic, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Norway, Paraguay, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, USA and Venezuela.
The weeklong tournament is expected to attract about 10,000 tourists and has been made possible by Castle Lite, New Vision, Hotel Africana and Fotogenix.
