Senegal Vs Uganda – Marrakesh Stadium, Morocco

Senegal Coach Alain Giresse has named hi 23 man squad ahead of the crunch 2014 World Cup qualifier against Uganda next month in Morocco less Chelsea FC striker Demba Ba.

The striker joins Newcastle compatriot Papis Cisse who is serving a suspension following bookings in the previous games against Uganda in Kampala and Liberia in Monrovia.

The 23 man squad includes three goal keepers, eight defenders, five midfielders and seven strikers.

In the absence of Cisse and Ba, ‘The Lions of Teranga’ will have former Manchester United striker Mame Birame Diouf, Fernerbahce’s Moussa Sow and Lokomotiv Moscow’s Dame Ndoye amongst options upfront.

Senegal leads group J with nine points one ahead of second placed Uganda and must avoid defeat to advance to the final round where five winners from a two legged clash will represent Africa at the World Cup in Brazil next year.

Goalkeepers: Bouna Coundoul (Ethnikos), Cheikh Ndiaye (Rennes), Issa Ndiaye (Créteil)

Defenders: Lamine Gassama (Lorient), Issa Cissokho, Pape Mison Djilobodji (FC Nantes), Lamine Sané (Bordeaux), Cheikh Kouyaté (Anderlecht), Kara Mbodj (Genk), Cheikh Mbengue (Toulouse) and Pape Ndiaye Souaré (Lille).

Midfielders: Mouhamed Diamé (West Ham), Idrissa Gana Guèye (Lille), Salif Sané (Hanover), Stéphane Badji (SK Bramm) and Alfred Ndiaye (Eskishirspor).

Forwards: Sadio Mané (Salzburg), Moussa Sow (Fenerbahce), Dame Ndoye (Lokomotiv Moscow), Mame Birame Diouf (Hanover), Modou Sougou (Evian) and Ibrahima Baldé (Kuban Krasnodar).
