They were only fancied to reach the semi-finals. But from the mere look of things, the form exhibited so far by Jinja SS and Mukono Parents could make them even reach the final of the boys’ Pepsi Schools’ Cricket Week. The two sides remained unbeaten after day three games. Jinja claimed a 129-run victory over Masaka SS at Budo grass Oval before defeating Ntare by 93 runs later in the day on Tuesday.

Mukono’s aggressive batting helped them defeat Kings’ College Budo by 131 runs at Lugogo Oval. “We are playing well and I hope this form can help us reach the summit.” Jinja SS coach Habibu Mugalula told Kawowo Sports seizing their fourth win in as many games. Mugalula has led Jinja to the last two girls’ titles.

The 2002 champions Jinja, who were due to complete their group B games  Ndejje SS this afternoon at Budo Astro-turf in the afternoon, set 169-9 with Kenneth Waiswa making 61 while Eddy Agaba got 30. Masaka’s who looked poor in their innings suffered from unfriendly deliveries that aided Calvin Watuwa to bowling figures of 5/13. Meanwhile, two other U-19 stars Derrick Bakunzi (68) and Simon Ssesaazi (66) scored each a 60-odd figure to help Mukono set 172-8 before the former returned with 3/11 as they bowled out Budo for a paltry 41 runs.
