2009 Uganda Open winner Peter Ssendaula, maintained his lead going into day three of the 71st Tusker Malt Uganda Amateur Golf Championship that is going on at the par 71 Entebbe golf course.
The soft spoken player shot one over par 143 gross to maintain his lead going into a very decisive day tomorrow at the 18 hole course, but will have to battle his club-mate Robert Oluba, who returned with a similar score.
“I would have returned with a similar score line like my opening round however I messed up with a double bogey on hole 16 and then bogeys on hole 2, 3,8, and 13,” Ssendaula said. ” “I am under no pressure and I just want to go their and just play my game.”
Defending champion Philip Kasozi returned with a score of 13 over par 156 gross to remain with a slim chance to retain his crown while Willy Deus Kitata was six over par 149 gross going into tomorrow’s action.
In the professionals section Vincent Byamukama and Deo Akope will battle it out with the rest of the professional players that made the cut after a gruelling round on day two.
