It is always said, one of the most risky and temporary jobs on planet earth is being a football coach.

There is still  room though for more debate about the statement. As it goes on, George Ssemwogerere has lost his job as Kira Young Football Club head coach following a string of appalling results in the opening 3 matches of the 2013/14 football league.

“We have relieved him of his duties as we look for a quick replacement”, Kira Young Director, Lukwago confirmed Ssemwogerere’s sacking to Kawowo Sports.

Kira Young has had a terrible start to the 2013/14 football league having collected a point from the possible 9. In the Club’s opening fixture against Police, the team registered a 1 all  draw at Namboole before succumbing to defeats against two of the newly promoted sides in their next two games.

Soana Football Club whipped Kira Young 3-0 at Namboole Stadium before Bright Stars registered their first win of the season with an Anthony Bongole strike over the hapless Kira Young.

Ssemwogerere helped Kira Young gain promotion to Uganda’s top flight super division from the FUFA Big league in 2010.

“We decided i step aside by mutual consent”, Coach Ssemwogerere says of his departure from the side he promoted from Big league.

As it stands, James Magala, who has been Ssemwogerere’s first assistant will remain in charge of the team and his first assignment as head coach will be on Friday as Kira Young hosts Masaka L.C at Namboole National Stadium in the remaining games of the week 4 Fufa Super league fixtures.

Ssemwogerere, who had a great playing career as that lanky libero is also a former Uganda Cranes skipper, who has also previously coached Express Football, Tanzanian outfit, Kagera Sugar and Lugave Clan.

He is the current U-23 National Football Team coach (The Kobs).
