Ex-Cranes striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma and nomadic midfielder Mike Sserumaga have signed for 2013 Uganda Cup winners SC Victoria University on a one and two year deal respectively the club has announced. Both are free agents with Sserunkuma joining from South Africa’s second division club Vasco Da Gama where his contract was not renewed while Sserumaga last featured for Proline FC in bits after he failed to strike a deal with Rayon Sport of Rwanda.
Sserunkuma had before played for Horizons FC, Police FC and KCC FC in Uganda, Ethiopia’s St. George, and PSL sides Bloemfontein Celtic and Bidvest Wits. SCVU Head Coach Alex Isabirye was delighted with Sserunkuma’s acquisition and stated that his experience will be vital especially in the Caf Confederation Cup. “Geoff is vastly experienced and has scored goals throughout his career. I am pleased that we have someone of with experience and knowhow and his presence will help us even in next year’s continental games,” stated Isabirye.
Like Sserunkuma, Sserumaga is also a nomad who has featured for several clubs in and out of Uganda and on a number of occasions left those clubs without fulfilling his contractual obligations. He has featured for KB Lions, Bunamwaya SC, Police FC, URA FC, St. George (Ethiopia), Helsinborg (Sweden), Rayon Sport (Rwanda) and Proline FC among others.
