Five Uganda Squash players led by top seed and national player of the year 2012 Michael Kawooya will embark on a series of tournaments next month starting with the Nakuru Open that swings into action at the Nakuru Rift Valley Sports Club from October 18-20.
The other players include seed two Ian Rukunya Kajubu, seed three Brian Okumu, seed four Paul Kadoma and seed five Lawrence Matovu, they will be accompanied by coaches Derek Banyu and Simon Kajubu, for the tournaments.
“We are basically running down the calendar and these are our last tournaments that we shall be taking part in the year,” Kawooya stated. “This year we have not had any local events, but we have used the opportunities to participate in International events and we hope that it can help our games and also gain experience.”
The team will then participate in the Parklands Open Squash tournament that starts from November 11-16 in Nairobi and then they take part in the Kenya Open from November 25-30 at the same venue.
Uganda Squash Rackets Association together with squash well wishers and the fraternity at Kampala Club are facilitating the team for this squash tour.
