Generous men with kind and giving hearts will forever remain a rare human species on planet Earth. When Kawowo Sports recently published an article highlighting the hardships met by the Uganda National Rowing Team “Ugandan Rowers Train Amidst Challenges”, it took a gentleman, thousands of miles from the Pearl of Africa Nation, Uganda to hear and answer the cries amicably.
Thomas Friedhoff, 27, a Dutch National, upon reading the plight of Ugandan Rowers on www.kawowo.com, has reacted swiftly with a timely boost of professional sports drinks (Isotar) that will be able to sustain the team through out the Tunisian event that gets underway on 1st till 14th October 2013 in Tunisia.
“These Professional supplements are to provide them with the much needed energy. They are rich in magnesium, calcium, iron & zinc with a can for Proteins”, he spoke to kawowo sports.

Friedhoff, who has dedicated his whole life to developing rowers is amazed by the awesome vast talent at Uganda’s disposal. “The future is bright for the rowing sport in Uganda”, says the former rower, who is now coaching and developing talented athletes to fully maximize their potential.
Amazingly, the Vrije University graduate in Amsterdam with Okeanos Rowing Club , quit his job to serve the rowing fraternity fully with his meager personal resources and those garnered from the sport loving fanatics.
“I’ve put in 80-100 hours a week to build ‘The success of Project Uganda 2016 (with Great results and a blog http://projectuganda2016.nl/blog/), but has cost me dearly and just quit my job for it, So I can help Ugandan Rowing further”, he narrates to Kawowo Sports in an exclusive online interview.
The Ugandan team to Tunisia will comprise of Gerald Ssemambo (single Sculle), the duo of Douglas Kisarale and Alfred Okello (Double Scull) and Coach Rodrick Muhumuza. Ssmambo spent close to 4 months in the Netherlands where he recieved special training ahead of the “Koninklijke Holland Beker”and several other races.
The Supplements will reach in Uganda (brought by Mbambu Constance, a rower who has been in Netherlands for 3 months) on Monday, aboard KLM Flight, 24 hours before the official departure of the National team to the Tunisian Capital of Tunis.
With Such generous sporting hearts, the diligent efforts of the Rowing Federation of Uganda led by Hamza Kahwa, the rowers and a few individual sponsors of the sport like Charles Batambuze, the government and individual cooperate companies are challenged to come in and offer a helping hand to the sport virtually envisaged as the next goldmine of Uganda’s Sporting glory.
Very many Friedhoffs are needed in the different sporting events elsewhere to see the prosperity of the games. His timely assistance to the Ugandan Rowers will be an impetus for a positive performance in the up-coming African Championships, the East and Central Rowing Championships as well as the the youth Olympic Games qualifier set in a few months’ time.
Ugandan Corporates of all nature like Mukwano, Century, Crown Beverages, Air Uganda, Telecommunication Companies, among others should be provoked by the Friedhoff act and salvage the pride of sports like Rowing In Ugandan Boundaries and beyond.
