Uganda Ladies Open winner Angel Eaton, claimed the ladies crown at the Pepsi Independence Day Golf tournament returning with a score of 41 stableford points at the one day tournament that was held at the Par 72 Kitante golf course.
Eaton, at the same time won herself and friend Flavia Namakula, won a sponsorship from Crown Beverages of a full-sponsored golf tour next year where they will play one month in Holland.
Lydia Mutesi, was group B winner with 38 points. Don Gorman claimed the overall crown with a score of 41 points on count back and also walked away with a cash prize of 10 million shillings.
The one day tournament that is held every year to celebrate Uganda’s Independence attracted 209 amateur golfers and 17 professionals.
Herbert Rwamibazi with 39 points was winner Group A while Michael Arinda was winner B with 40 points. Shukla Patel was Group C winner with 36 points.
Silver Opio, beat 17 professionals to claim the 10 million kitty with a gross score of 146 over two days of action.
