Uganda Cranes Head Coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sedrojevic has decided to remain tight lipped about the alleged rampant reports surrounding his delayed salary Since August 2013.
The development follows media reports that he has gone 2-3 months without a salary.
“At the moment, I am concentrating on my work as coach, I did not come here for money. I have to prepare CECAFA and CHAN teams”, the Serbian born tactician revealed to Kawowo Sports when contacted for a comment.
“I respect my bosses at FUFA and i must tell you, we are having a great working relation”, he stammered to add.
Some sections of the media had reported that the coach who assumed the Uganda Cranes Coaching job in May 2013 has not been paid since August.
One FUFA official who requested not to be named because he is not the official federation spokesperson rubbished the talk too.
“People coming up with such allegations are saboteurs of the great work we are trying to do. That is politics but we shall come up with an official position on Wednesday during our weekly press conference”, he added.
The Uganda Cranes recently regrouped for a 3 day training stint at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
The three days’ training, which left the head tactician impressed, marked the official preparations of the Uganda team for the 2013 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, that will be hosted in the 4 Kenyan cities of Nakuru, Kisumu, Mumias and Nairobi.
The CECAFA Tournament, which Uganda has won a record 13 times will run from November 27th through to December 2013 in Kenya.
12 CECAFA nations have already confirmed participation with Zambia and Malawi the expected two guest teams.
Meanwhile, the FUFA Vice President in Charge of Technical issues, Mujib Kasule has called for financial discipline for the teams and players alike.
“In Uganda, we are now driving to a level where club managers have to employ various professionals like finance managers to help out the players budget and use their finances appropriately”, Mujib, who was on Monday night appearing on a local radio sports show urged.
