Super Light Weight: Fred Muhumuza (Ug) Vs Patrick Amote (Kenya) – 10 Rounds Main Fight
Before the Presence of 2 time world’s heavy weight champion, Francis Botha, Uganda’s super lightweight boxer, Fred Muhumuza is set to fight Kenyan Opponent, Patrick Amote in the 10 round fight at Club Obligato on 1st November 2013.
Muhumuza and many other Ugandans are privileged to host Howard Goldberg, the World Boxing Federation President as well as the legendary Botha in the country by the time of the fight. Botha and Goldberg will be marking their maiden visits to Uganda, having come to Tanzania in June.
Promoter Emma Mwesigwa confirms Botha will be the country next week and he guarantees security of the boxing supporters. “We have co-operated well with the police and other security agents, the fights will on safely”, Mwesigwa assures.
Big Strikers International and Uganda Boxing Union (UBU) have organized the fight that will have 4 under cards on the menu. Big Strikers International recently signed a 3 year management deal with Elite Access Media Group under the patronage of Shawn Mubiru.
Godfrey Nyeko will face Muzafaru Ssenoga in the middle light weight category, Robert ‘Ring Doctor’ Kamya will fight Charles Kakande (super middle weight re-match), Sula Segawa will face the hard fighting Congo Brazzavillian, Herve Zongo in an 8 round Bantam weight while Hudson Muhumuza will fight Kenyan James Omolo in the round rounds of heavy weight action.
Oil giants Mogas are the main title sponsors and have offered Ug Shs 20 M to help in the organization of the fight preparations and logistics. Big strikers International have struck deals with media groups, NTV, The Observer, The Daily Monitor, Red Pepper Publications, Radios – CBS and Sapientia, Gong Records to give light to the event.
Other sponsors of the fight are Jomyi Property Consultants and possible talks are underway with Power Horse energy drink.
Entrance is 10,000 for the general viwers while VIP spectators will pay 30,000/=. Fans are expected by 6 pm.
