Men Finals (Game 2):
Nemostars 3 – 0 KAVC (25-20, 25-23, 25-21)
Women 3rd Game Semi-finals:
Nkumba University 0 – 3 KAVC (21-25, 18-25, 19-25)
All signs are eminent that Nemostars are surely destined for a second successive national league title. For 108 grueling action and tension packed minutes of the second leg of the finals play-off series, Nemostars completed the task at hand in great and convincing fashion following a 3 straight victory over arch-rivals KAVC.
Anthony Ndawula, the Nemostars’ head coach could be credited for lining up a formidable sqaud of committed individuals and coming up with the right systems of play.
He refuses to accept the task at hand is finished. “Come on, we still have another set of games to play. We are far from Champions’ tag”, he opened up to Kawowo Sports.
Against a strong KAVC side, one that has managed to excel in the ball service and attack department spearheaded by the back to form Pierre Kamugasha, Nemostars neutralized KAVC’s advantage with strong blocks and once again, one more underground trick from the vastly experienced Ndawula.
“KAVC expected us to attack from the center, it was the opposite, we used the flanks”, Ndawula unearthed his winning strategy of game 2 after shifting skipper and power attacker, George Aporu to use the opposite attack means.
“George thrives more on the opposite than center. When we countered their great ball service, we had to captalise and fetch the points home”, Ndawula said.
Amon Ayinebyona of KAVC says the game is far from finish. ” We have what it takes to make amends”, Amon spoke to Kawowo Sports shortly after the final whistle.
In the ladies affair, it will be KAVC playing defending champions, the Ndejje University Elites after the latter white washed Nkumba University 3 -0 in game 3 of the ladies semi-final plays-off at Lugogo.
