Internal Affairs Minister, Gen. Aronda Nyakairima officially opened the 11th edition of the inter-forces games on Monday 27th November 2013, at the Prisons playground in Luzira.

The games are meant to engage the Police force, UPDF, Uganda Wildlife Authority and Uganda Prisons in sports activities annually.

In his speech to the force leaders and representatives, Gen. Aronda promised more support to the forces as he finally added praise for the leaders who have contributed to the consolidation of national stability through sports.

The events were kicked off with an opening football match where hosts, Prisons lost 2-1 to the Uganda Wildlife Authority. Police later drew 1-1 with defending champions UPDF.

In handball, Prisons walloped Uganda Wildlife Authority 31-18, while police edged UPDF 19-18.

Games have been scheduled to last this week, from 25th to 30th. Prisons will miss the services of World and Olympic Marathon Champion Stephen Kiprotich as athletes compete in different categories on Tuesday 26th.
