CECAFA 2013 Group A Result:

Ethiopia 3 -1 Zanzibar

Two first half goals from Fasika Asfan, a well taken penalty from Salahadin Bargicho and a late Yonathan Kedebe strike have given the Walya stars a command at the group A GOtv cecafa fixture played at Nyayo stadium in Nairobi on Saturday.

Ethiopia took the lead so early in the game through Fasika Asfan’s 5 th minute well tapped in effort after Yousuf Yassin Salah’s donkey work on the right flank that left Khamis Bakari and Wazir Salum crawling on the Nyayo turf witnessed by a small but lively crowd.

The Zanzibar team, who lost their inspirational striker Suleiman Kassim Suleiman in the 14th minute due to a nagging hamstring injury came back strong in the second half. One of their attacks won them a consolation through Awadh Juma Issa.

After that  goal-less draw against the Kenyan Harambe Stars, the Ethiopian Walya Stars now need atleast a point from the last group game with the South Sudanese to progress to the quater-finals.
