Tanzania goal keeper Ivo Phillip Omondi has admitted he had a feeling he would save Daniel Sserunkuma’s penalty in the shootout after he studied his techniques during their training sessions at the Gor Mahia.

Mapunda however admitted Sserunkuma always scored against him in training and is the only Gor Mahia player that had beaten him all time when it comes to penalties though he admits he knew how Sserunkuma takes his penalties.

“Today I just ensured I study him well before he took it and fortunately or unfortunately I pounced on it,” Mapunda told futaa.com immediately after game.

Sserunkuma missed the last of Uganda Cranes’ spot kicks against Tanzania to ensure the Cranes road to the finals of this year’s GOtv Cecafa Cup came to an end.

Tanzania beat Uganda 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time.
