MTN Heathens seem to have approached Saturday’s game against fierce and on-form rivals, Dmark Kobs on the edge of despair, contrary to the home side’s ecstasy and confidence that led them into a comfortable position for title glory.

Dmark Kobs emerged victorious at Legends beating visitors, Heathens 19-11. A game well managed by the Kobs team was all Heathens fans had to witness, right from the two minute clock on of the game, when Justin Kimono scored a try for the home side.

Kobs’ James Ijongat failed to extend the score to a 7 point gap missing a conversion. However, team-mate Scott Olouch continued to keep Heathens out of a draw-breath moment, scoring another try that was finally succeeded by a good James Ijongat conversion. Kobs’ Justin Kimono’s sidestepping exposed Heathens’ back-line inefficiency at tackle, though that did not hinder the visitors from responding with a good Benon Kizza penalty kick for a 12-3 halftime score.

Justin Kimono again, hardly left Heathens’ defence to extricating themselves from trouble in the second half, until Kobs’ Center Oscar Kalyango scored the third try. James Ijongat made a good conversion thereafter pushing the score to 19-3 in favour of Dmark Kobs.

Heathens later scored an Allan Owiny try after Jasper Ochen’s penalty sending the game to full time score of Dmark Kobs 19 MTN Heathens 11.

Dmark Kobs now remain the only unbeaten side in the Nile Special Super 8 Rugby League as they head for week 7 battle next weekend. MTN Heathens have eventually lost their first game out of six this season losing their precious unbeaten run.

Other games played had Sadolin Mongers earning their first league victory, having thrashed Lira Bulls 41-10 in Entebbe Toyota Buffaloes beat Ezee Money Rhinos 16-10 at Kyadondo, Rhinos suffering a 2nd loss out of six this season.
