Inter University Games defending champions, Ndejje University has topped the games medal table with three gold and  2 silver medals on Day two of the competition hosted at Uganda Christian University, Mukono.

MUBS  takes second position on the medal tally with 1 silver, 1 bronze followed in third place by Busitema and Makerere with one bronze medal apiece.

 
Ndejje’s  medals were picked from woodball sport where Lilian Zawedde and Charity Nagaba grabbed gold in the ladies doubles after hitting 52 strokes and silver by Viola Operu and Cissy Nakato with 57 strokes in the same event. MUBS Shallot Kikatushemezaand Angel Turinawe managed to take home a bronze with 61 strokes.
 
The Ndejje men’s side, Joel Adupa and Bruno Bbosa also stole show in the other double to win gold in the sport that has been dominated on the national scene by Ndejje University for the last eight years. Johnmary Musiime and Francis Tumwebaze from MUBS got silver with 55 strokes while Didas Busingye with Robert Bakaze from MUK won bronze. 
 
Onesmus Atamba pairing with Daniela Nabukalu snatched another gold in the mixed doubles while Collins Kamoga and Vicky Nankabirwa won silver for the Games defending champions Ndejje. 

Atamba and Zawedde promised fireworks during tomorrow’s remaining singles and team games.

“The course was tough and challenging. We deserved the win because we prepared for it. There was no short cut and we are ready to take on any team tomorrow,” Zawedde said. 

 
Earlier today, soccer defending champions Ndejje  University walloped Kabale University 4-0 in its second group match. Rogers Aloro netted two goals in the 14th and 72nd minute while Hood Kalumba and Joseph Muluya scored in the 56th and 65th minute to provide the champions the necessary chances to go atop the table.

In Volleyball, the Ndejje ladies National league Champions humiliated hosts UCU 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-11) at their home backyard. The Ndejje men’s side also turned tables on Bishop Stuart handing them 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-17). 

At another front Busoga University was given a  rude welcome by Ndejje 3-52  in its first handball match while MUST disappointed Ndejje winning two of the ladies singles 2-0 apiece in the tennis ladies singles.

 
The medal table is expected to take a new look coming into day 3 of action with athletics and swimming taking center stage.

Doubles (Women): Lilian Zawedde/Charity Agaba (Ndejje) beat Opera Viola/Nakato Cissy (Ndejje) . The winning pair shot 52 Strokes, the runner up had 57 strokes. Third places pair Kikausehmeza/ Turinawe Angel (MUBS) got 61 strokes.

Doubles (Men): Adupa Joel/Bossa Bruno (Ndejje defeated Musiime John Mary/Tumwebaze Francis (MUBS). The winning pair posted 55 strokes, while runners up had 59 strokes. Third placed pair of Bakaze Robert/Busingye Didas got 62 strokes. 

Mixed Doubles: Atamba Onesmus/ Daniella Nabukalu (Ndejje) beat Collins Kamoga/ Vicky Nankabirwa (Ndejje). The winning team got 52 strokes, runners up 66 and third place went to the pair of Mukiisa Moses and Nalumu Rehema (Busitema) with 67 strokes.
