By the close of day three at the 15th Inter-University games being played at Uganda Christian University in Mukono, all signs are eminent that the defending champions, Ndejje University are destined for a white wash and re-claim the games they last won on home turf in Luweero 3 years back.

Triumphs in Handball (men), Swimming (both genders), woodball, qualification to the men’s football event and many of the athletics’s track and field events have surely put Ndejje University at the summit of all the 23 institutions taking part in the biennial event. Following an amazing opening lead at the top of the medal tally, the Luwero based institution has boosted her chances of another remarkable victory after landslides victories in swimming for both genders, and many events of the track and field.

Record winners, Makerere University have already cliched another gold in Rugby after beating the other 4 universities in the round robin games played at Namilyango College rugby grounds. Home team, UCU have finessed second to take the rugby silver while MUBS takes the bronze. 

The games , where close to 23 universities across Uganda are participating in 16 sporting disciplines continue on Thursday and will climax on Friday with the official prize giving ceremony.

SWIMMING: Ndejje are champions for men and women

Men: Ndejje top with 623pts, MUK 2nd with 610pts, UCu 3rd with 370pts, KIu 4th with 295pts, MUBS 5th with 125 pts, Kyambogo 6th with 86 points

Women: Ndejje-657 pts, MUK 2nd with 616 pts, KIU 3rd 479pts, UCU 4th 274pts, Kyambogo 5th 98pts, MUBS last with no point
