Barely 11 days to the kick of the much anticipated 3rd edition of the Championships of African Nations football tournament in South Africa, Uganda’s head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sedrojevic has named the final team of 23 players expected to feature in the tourney meant for players featuring in the respective national domestic leagues.

Bul fc goalkeeper Oringa Franco, Proline’s left back, Simon Namwanja, SC.Villa’s Ayub Kisalita and Umar Kasumba Umar, a striker with  Police fc have all been deemed surplus to requirements.

Goalie Ali Kimera, a late inclusion on the team makes the cut while midfielder, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda too will be travelling for the CHAN championships where Uganda is drawn in group B alongside Morrocco, Burkina faso and Zimbabwe.

Nicholas Wadada, who has been nursing a cut on the right foot he sustained two weeks back, has not been considered.

The team is expected to leave the country by 3rd of January.
