Nature has always provided accommodation space for fast and slow paced creatures.
The latter category, so much envied by Usain Bolt and the Cheetah includes the Chameleon, Tortoise, the Snail and a one Idi Walusimbi, a pool player in Uganda.
Pool playing styles vary from player to player. Mere mention of the name Idi Walusimbi, now based at Q – Pool Academy in Kanyanya, a Kampala City Suburb, reminds many of the pool faithfuls in the country of that slow but sure pool player.
The 20 year old pool player, is no doubt one of the promising pool players in the country but his playing style has left many awed.
“I take my time to make a shot because I always need to chalk up my cue, calculate the angles especially after breaking the balls”, the soft spoken Kanyanya based player says.

Walusimbi recently helped Global.Com to gain promotion to the elite league but in a surprise move, he opted to make a transfer that left many surprised as signed for a lower tier team, Q-pool Academy.
“That transfer was purely financially oriented”, he says. For his style of play, he will be earning a hefty Ug X 30,000 per game played at his new found club, Q –Pool Academy.
“Walusimbi is a great guy but he slows the game so much”, confesses, Alfred ‘Black Sheep’ Gumikiriza, one of the fastest and most outspoken pool players in the country.
To Walusimbi himself, he is not ready to divert from his playing style given the talk he terms ‘Wolokoso’ – translated at loose talk.
“Many have complained about my style but in the long time they have come to appreciate that is me”, the Senior six vacist testifies.
