Samuel Shibu and Suzan Sneha claimed ugx 2,500,000 after successfully wining Ranjit Anu and Janjit SS in the first edition of the couple’s badminton challenge tournament held at MTN Lugogo arena over the weekend.
The happy couple won their counterparts 21-10, 21-17 in a highly cheered tournament organized by Kampala Friends Badminton club in conjunction with the Uganda Badminton Federation.
“They were a hard team but we utilized much of our experience to beat them” Samuel Shibu told Kawowo Sports shortly after the final game of the event that attracted 33 couples from Uganda and India.
Ranjit Anu and Janjit SS, the first runners up, together with Jigeesh Mohan and Soumya Jigeesh (2nd runners up) won themselves ugx 1,500,000 and 500,000 prize money respectively.
Taking at the closing ceremony, Jamar Nazal the chief organizer of the event thanked the big turn-up of participants at the inaugural call.
The theme of the tournament was to attract or involve parents more into Badminton game and doing so, they (parents) will support their children.
