The Uganda Handball Federation is in search for Ugx 52 million for the Under 17 team ahead of a continental championship.
Sheila Richardson Agonzibwa, the federation’s president told Kawowo Sports over the weekend that “We are fundraising money to take the team to Nairobi next month”.
Uganda under 17 men team will depart for Kenya on 13th-March for the 9th edition of Youth Africa Nations Championship.
The president went on to call upon government, companies and individuals to come to their rescue. “I call on the government, companies and people out there to come up and sponsor us”. Sheila said.
Last month, the federation conducted three youth handball camps in Kibuli, Bombo and Luzira from which the national team will be selected.
Meanwhile, Dynamics Secondary school offered twenty scholarships to players who performed better during the recently concluded camps.
Lubiri Secondary School also offered two scholarships, while, Kibuli Secondary school and Ggombe secondary School offered a single scholarship each.
