FUBA Dinner:

The toil of diligence on the basketball courts, the countless hours of team’s preparations and spy work on opposition, the endless chants of ‘Our Money’ on every dunk, dribble, dummy, free shots and inevitably the baskets will finally be wrapped up with a glamorous end of season Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) dinner slated for this Saturday at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

The entire basketball family will be elegantly prepared for the best food and drink ever and how special the event comes with live television on NBS and Urban Television stations.

“The FUBA awards dinner which was originally slated for late January has finally been confirmed to take place on Saturday 8th, Febryary 2014 at Imperial Royale Hotel from 6pm immediately after the 2013 Annual General Assembly at Kati Kati African Restaurant on the same day”, an official statement signed by Benard Ogwel reads.

State Sports Minister, Charles Bakabulindi will grace the awards as Chief guest at the event where the season’s finest players and teams will be rewarded with medals, plaques and trophies.

“The annual event will feature awards of best performers teams, players and personalities for 2013 season”, Ogwel’s statement clarifies.

All the respective division Champions , runners up, Most disciplined Teams (1 men & 1 women), Most improved teams,the meanest (most defensive teams) top scorers, coach of the year,manager of the year, most promising and players with outstanding performance of the year will be rewarded.

City Oil won the men’s Division 1 title while Uganda Christian University (UCU) took the ladies’ gong.

On a special note, just like the Pool family, a special Basketball  ambassador will be named at the dinner.               

The events title sponsor is Castle Lite and co-sponsored by Airtel, Friends of Basketball, FUBA, nbs and Urban Television stations. will also broadcast the live event on their television channels.
