Mbogo Clan Striker, Nelson Senkatuka has joined Erith and Belvedere football Club. “We are delighted to announce that Nelson Senkatuka and Mo Conteh are now official Erith & Belvedere football club players”, an official statement on the club’s website states.
Mo Conteh rejoins the team after a short spell with Ryman Premier League neighbours Thamesmead Town. “We are really excited that Nelson Senkatuka has signed for the Deres after finally receiving international clearance”, the club clarifies of the capture of the Ugandan’s signature.
Senkatuka is a pacy and talented striker with an eye for the goal. He last featured competitively in Uganda during the 2013 Bika Bya Buganda football tourney, where his goals helped his Mbogo Clan progress up to the latter stages of the annual tournament.
His superb performance caught the scouting eyes of Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin Micho Sedrojevic, who invited the player for a training stint with the team that was preparing to play neighbours, Tanzania, during the Championships of African Nations (CHAN) Qualifier, which Uganda won 4-1 on aggregate to progress for the continental showpiece finals that were won by the Mediterrean Lions of Libya in South Africa.
“Nelson is a very exciting prospect who has represented Uganda. Both players (Nelson and Mo Conteh) are welcomed attacking additions to the side”, the Deres’ official website concludes.
The Deres currently sit 22nd on the 24 team log of the Ryman Football League played in the North Division. They visit Waltham Abbey on Saturday, 8th February 2014 in a game the duo are expected to make their debut.
