C.S Don Bosco (D.R Congo) Vs SC Victoria University (Uganda) – Stade De T.P Mazembe, Lubumbashi

Upon leaving for Democratic Republic of Congo, Ugandan Club, Sports Club Victoria University held a media press conference on Wednesday at Metropole Hotel in Kampala.

At the press briefing, the club introduced their new players and outlined their preparations for the year ahead of them.

Club Chairman, Simo Dubajic used the plat form to highlight the team’s agenda for the year 2014 and the future ahead of the club. “We shall maintain discipline in the club, we have to feature in the local league and on the continent with positive results”, he remarked.

Simo and the rest of the technical team had been tasked by reporters who attended why they let go of their ‘senior’ players in Sserumaga, Savio Kabugo and team skipper, Denis Iguma at a crucial time when the team plays for the first time on the continent.

As you read this, Sports Club Victoria University will approach Saturday’s game against home side, Don Bosco (currently sited 3rd  on the D.R.Congo premier league) minus the three players who were suspended for being undisciplined.

The players and officials  checked in at the Grand Kavaria Hotel on Thursday evening and trained at the match day venue Stade De T.P Mazembe.

“We are ready for the task. Don Bosco is an experienced outfit but we are ready for the battle ahead. We shall surprise many who doubt us”, Victoria’s head coach, Morley Byekwaso remarked prior departure.

Benjamin Ochan is expected to start in goal with skipper Martin Mpuuga, Isaac Muleme, Benard Agele and new recruit, Murushid Jjuuko manning the backline.

Should Byekawso employ the 4-3-3 system, then he will opt for Yasser Mugerwa in the holding role with Muwadda Mawejje and Noah Semakula the other two midfield partners.

Peter Otai, Simon OKwi and Dan Nsubuga leading the front attack line for the much needed goals. Otherwise, coach Byekwaso has plenty of options with late inclusion, Ceasar Sapeo, the towering new signing,Dan Isiagi offering the attacking alternatives, while Mutyaba Muzamir is another attack minded midfielder.

Should he opt for a 4- 4 -2 , then defender cum defensive midfielder, Murushid Jjuko may be deployed as a second midfielder along side Mugerwa as Muwadda and Otai man the wings.

Uganda’s other representatives, Kampala City Council (KCC) will be playing in Sudan against champions, El Merrickh later on Saturday. [Check El-Merrickh vs KCC match preview].
