Yanga (Tanzania) 7-0 Komorozine (Comoros)

Uganda Cranes striker Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza was on the score sheet as Tanzania’s Young Africans humiliated Comoros Komorozine with a 7-0 defeat in the first leg of the preliminary stage of the 2014 Caf Champions league game played at National Stadium, Dar es Salaam.

The ex-URA FC striker got on the score sheet in the 59th minute after Mrisho Ngassa (13), Nadir ‘Cannavaro’ Haroub (20) and Didier Kavumbagu (59) had given the home side a three goal lead.

Ngassa added the fifth five minutes later before completing his hat trick in the 68th minute before Kavumbagu who came off the bench to replace David Luhende at half time put the icing on the cake with ten minutes to pay with his second and Yanga’s seventh on the day.

Yanga visit Komorozine in a week’s time for the return leg but look assured of a clash with Egypt’s Al Ahly in the first round as the Comoros’ side will need more than a miracle to overturn the result.
