G4S Pirates recorded their fifth rugby premiership victory against Mutoni Warriors thanks to a hard fought 20-16 win at Legends Rugby Grounds on Saturday.

G4S Pirates capitalized on their dominant second half scrum after a 10-10 first half score to salvage victory that brightened their season end period with three consecutive home wins against Warriors, Toyota Buffaloes and Lira Bulls, an opportunity that could see them survive relegation.

Isaac Rujumba (man of the match), Kevin Makmot and captain Eric Butime’s tries and conversions were key for G4S Pirates in this match as Second half saw Mutoni Warriors struggle down to 13 men after a yellow and Amolo red card.

Warriors’ and Pirates’ coaches Herbert Wafula and Sam Ahamya had a few misunderstandings with the referee for several twists of penalties awarded, decisions that exposed players’ discipline issues that this time almost ruined Pirates’ second half lead.

G4S Pirates captain, Eric Butime was pleased with the victory expecting another against Sadolin Mongers in Entebbe next weekend.

“We hope we can get another four or five points. We have got hungrier,  we have found our bearing, the team is maturing.” “Thank you for the support this far, we are looking forward to a better 2014 and the rest of the rugby there is.” he said in a post-match interview.

Man of the match Isaac Rujumba of G4S Pirates, attributed the team success to the good training, coaches and determined colleagues.
