1st Beach Woodball Circuit
Following the successful woodball calendar opening event of 2014, the 1st corporate woodball that was held last weekend at Makerere University Business School (MUBS), focus now shifts to the opening beach woodball circuit of the year at Entebbe Sports Beach.
The day long event will take place at Entebbe Sports Beach shorelines of Lake Victoria. “We plan to play 12 gates for the singles of both genders, mixed and doubles events on the sand”, says, Kateregga, an administrator with Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF).
Household names like Onesmus Atamba, Juilus Agaba, Kenneth Bukenya, Tonny Woods are expected lead the men’s surge for top honors while Lillian Zawedde, Shamusa Nantege Kyolaba, Shallot and Flavia Navubya will vye in the ladies’ category.
The beauty of beach woodball is the abundant fresh environs of the shoreline, the challenges that come along playing in the sand and most importantly, the freestyle dress code as play goes on.
Woodball is played on grass, bare ground and on sand. The next event on the calendar will the 1st Entebbe Woodball open that will be played at Lake Victoria Primary school on 8th March 2014.
