Thika United Coach John Kamau praised Ugandan goalie Hamza Muwonge for his imperious performance against Tusker FC.

The ex-Vipers SC custodian made his debut for Thika in the 1-1 draw versus former champions Tusker FC in their 2014 KPL opening game played at City Stadium, Nairobi.

“His experience and calmness is what we have been lacking in the previous seasons,” Kamau told the press in his post match reaction.” “Muwonge was calm even when under pressure and he did settle the defenders in front of him.” “Am happy with his performance,” Kamau added.

Muwonge joined Thika in the January window and going by the show on Sunday, he is likely to maintain the number one spot for the entire season. He, alongside compatriot Tony Kizito featured for 90 minutes whilst Daniel Ojara and Samuel Mwanje were not in the match day squad.
