It’s not clear if KAVC will defend the Joan Cox Memorial tournament they won last year despite being pooled. KAVC missed the Makerere Open last Sunday without clear reasons. Meaning the expected rivalry between the oldest club in Uganda and newly formed Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC) is yet to take shape.
The two sides were separated during the pooling of teams ahead of the Joan Cox tourney this weekend at Gayaza High School. Unlike KAVC and VCC, KCCA and Espoir will have a chance to face each other. Espoir which was also established this started with over eight players from KCCA.
KAVC are pooled alongside KCCA, new comers Thunder and Espoir in pool A while VVC, Mulago, UCU Lady Doves and Sport-S are in the other pool. Trust High are the defending champions in the school category that is suspected to attract over 20 participants. The championship is in memory of Joan Cox (RIP) who passed away two years ago after clocking 100 years.
