Four birdies and three bogey’s were enough for Joseph Mawejje to claim the MTN February Monthly Mug at the Uganda Golf Club on Saturday at Kitante.
“I enjoyed my game on the course the greens were holding and that made my game easy to play,” Mawejje said after the win. “This is great win for me ahead of the Kenya Open next month and hopefully it will give me lots of confidence.”
The senior golfer beat a field of 165 golfers returning to the club house with a score of 71 gross to claim the overall prize of the day. Barry Acutt was runner-up with 74 gross on count back.
Kin Kariisa, was group A winner with 70 nett while Gerald Kabuye, was runner-up with 72 nett. In-form Elly Mukasa, maintained his winning streak claiming group B with a score of 70 nett.
Paddy Muramira was group C winner with 66 nett. Aggie Konde, was the ladies winner group A with 63 nett while Jovia Otim, was winner group C with 67 nett.
