1st Entebbe Woodball Open:

The inaugural Entebbe woodball open is slated to roll off at the Entebbe based Lake Victoria primary school on the 8th March 2014.

“As part of the International Women’s Day 2014 celebrations, Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF) will be organizing the 1st Entebbe Open Woodball Championship 2014 on Saturday, March 8th, 2014 at Lake Victoria School”, an official statement, signed by administrator Godfrey Kateregga, released by the Federation reads.

The UWbF encourages and supports the promotion of women in sport at all levels and in all structures, with a view to implementing the principle of equality of men and women.

The event’s theme is proposed as “Enhancing the participation of women in sports” which is in line with the International Women’s Day 2014 theme: “Inspiring Change”.

The competition will begin at 9:00 am and over 10 school teams are expected at this event.

The next Juniors’ event will be 5th ICPAU Juniors Woodball Championship in June at Hana Mixed school.

The top three primary and secondary school teams will represent Entebbe region at the ICPAU sponsored event slated for June 14, 2014 at Hana Mixed School – Nsangi.

So far, Champions Christian Schools, Victor’s Junior Christian School, Mukono High School, St. John’s High School Mukono and Light College Mukono qualified during the 1st Mukono Schools Open Woodball Championship hosted by Victor’s Junior Christian School on February 28, 2014.
