National Insurance Corporation (NIC) have renewed their sponsorship with Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) with a ugx 660 million package to the national team and the entire technical staff.

“We (NIC) are glad for the healthy partnership with Uganda Cranes and FUFA.” “Therefore, we are offering an improved package from the previous one”, Bayo Folayon, the Company’s Managing Director remarked at a special media briefing in Kampala on Tuesday.

The insurance package is meant for current members on the national team. “Only active national team members qualify for the insurance offer”, Moses Magogo, the federation president explained.

Magogo added that, only players injured on national duty are ones to benefit from the offer. NIC has sponsored the national football team since 2008. The insurance giants have also assisted the national netball side, the She Cranes. They own a team, NIC netball team, that plays in the national league.

Sum Insured UGX 660M

Benefits:

Death: UGX 20M per player

Permanent injury picked up while on national duty: UGX20M

Medical up to: UGX 3M

Funeral expenses (irrespective of cause of death) UGX 1M

Accumulated limit injuries/death UGX160M

Number of players and technical team during training: 33

Number of players and technical team traveling overseas for a match: 25
