There is a lot at stake (for the teams) in the Friday Night Lights Basketball and naturally there will be competition – but when they say FNL is a fun event, you should have been at YMCA last night to see and feel what they mean.
The episode started with a rather close and competitive game – Team Sudi edging Team Enabu 56-55 to remain the only unbeaten side this season. No surprise as Team Sudi is the most competitive and more hungry – if you wish. Luke Dick, Kami Kabange and Sudi Ulanga scored 16, 13 and 11 points respectively in the victory. Carol Nantalo had 13 points, Ivan and Jimmy Enabu followed with 10 and 9 points respectively for Team Enabu.
Next on was Team Kasewu up against Team Blick and Jonah Otim made no work of them scoring 12 points and dishing 10 handouts to lead Team Blick to a 52-30 blowout of Team Kasewu – that matched the Legends record of four losses and no win. Did anyone expect Team Kasewu to win anyway? Not me!
The night finally got underway! Team Duxx against Team Amoding and guess who led Team Duxx down the stairs to the court? Yes, the motor mouthed kick-boxing (star?) who is not also a “joking subject” – Moses Golola sending thrills through the crowd. You wouldn’t be wrong to say he was a blessing to Team Duxx as his game opening basket inspired them to a 59-38 win over Team Amoding. Adam Kakuru scored 18 points and Irakoze Aurore added 16. Isaac Katumba had 13 for Team Amoding, Geoffrey Omondi added 8 points and 7 helpers.
Meanwhile after a Rap Battle at the break, Joseph Ikong completed his 23 points haul including a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lead his team to a 51-42 win over Team Malinga. Claire Lamunu had 10points for Team Malinga.
