Memorial Cycling race:

Start Point: Shell Lugogo Vis Kira Road (25 laps – 120 km)

The annual cycling memorial race is on this Sunday starting at 8 a.m. The event, organized by the Uganda Cycling Association in Conjunction with Shimano Cycling Club is intended to remember those cyclists who have died over the years.

“The major theme of this calendar opening event is to remember those cyclists whom we have lost along the away”, Esther Muwonge, general secretary of Uganda cycling Federation (UCF) says.

Among thise to be remembered is Mustaph Mugwanya from Greenlight Cycling Club, Dan Miiro, George Willian Kajumba, Steven Sembatya, Mohamed Mubiru, Nordin Kibarizi, Coach Harunah Bitooke, and many others.

The 120 km race will start at Shell Lugogo bypass Via Kira round about and back to  shell for the 25 raps covering a total Distance of 120 km for the elite men category. Other categories will be the elite women, under 18 and under 12.

David Matovu, Herbert Kyasa and many other elite cyclists will take part.
