East Africa Club Netball Championships will commence this Saturday 22nd at the National Indoor Stadium – Dar es Salaam, Tanzania as 22 netball teams from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar battle for top honours.

Women’s defending champions, National Insurance Corporation (NIC) of Uganda return, alongside counterparts Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA), Kampala University, Prisons (women) and Prisons (men) for the regional competition expected to climax on Sunday 30th. NIC are in abuoyant mood thanks to their home league trophy triumph last month.

According to Tanzania Amateur Netball Association chairperson Anna Kibira, all top teams have confirmed participation and the preparations have been completed.

“Netball fans should expect a major treat because all top teams in the region have confirmed participation in the championship and preparations are ready for all the teams,” she said.

Kenyan teams to take part include the men’s defending champions Prisons, Kenyatta International Hospital, Western Stima (Women) and Moict.

Tanzania will field JKT Mbweni, JKT Ruvu, Magereza, Jiji Arusha, Mangaya and Kazamoyo while Zanzibar will have JKU, Police, Mswambweni and Mafunzo representing in men’s and women’s categories.
