1st Nakawa Schools woodball Championship

As the initial Nakawa schools’ woodball open swings off this weekend, several young woodball players will play their hearts out longing for qualification to the 6th World Cup woodball championships that will take place in the Chinese city of Sanya come September (5th – 11th).

“Players will be further assessed to represent Uganda at the 6th World Cup Woodball Championship – Youth event slated for September 5 – 11, 2014 in Sanya, China”, John Baptist Kateregga, Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF) administrator says.

This weekend’s event, sponsored by CPA Uganda will take place at Progressive S.S – Kitintale. Only Woodball players from primary and secondary schools will be eligible to compete at this event.

The teams that have confirmed participation already for the day long event are St. Kizito Primary School – Bugolobi, Bishop Cyprian Kihangire, Margret Grant Preparatory School, Motherwell Junior School – Mutungo, Kyambogo College School, Rise and Shine Primary School – Ntinda, Lakeside College Luzira, Luzira Secondary School, Mutungo Parents, and definitely the host school, Progressive S.S – Kitintale.

The top three primary and secondary school teams will represent Nakawa region at the 5th ICPAU sponsored event slated for June 14, 2014 at Hana Mixed School – Nsangi.

The event is organised by Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF).
