Ssaabasajja Kabaka’s birthday road race will be held on 6th April, in celebration of his birthday, seven days before his date of birth 13th April.
The race expected to gather several athletes from all parts of the country, has been organised to raise funds, meant to help women infected with fistula disease, one that has turned chronic in women leading to loss of lives.
According to the Manager of Hotel Intertropics Steven Turunya who purchased 30 tickets for the event, more people are encouraged to buy more so that they could be part of the cause.
“We encourage people to buy more and to be part of the activities in celebration of the Kabaka’s 59th birthday,”he said.
The race has been organised in three sections; 21km, 10km and 5km. Registration is shs10,000 for individuals and corporates shs1,000,000. The run will start at the Kabaka’s palace in Mengo and will be flagged off by the Kabaka.
