Super Light Welter Weight Bout: (National Title)

Hamza ‘The Templer’ Ssempewo Vs Dragon Kidega

March 29th March 2014

At Littel Flowers, Bombo Road

Professional boxer Hamza “The Templer” Sempewo is expectant he will capture the national vacant UPBC title ahead of the forth coming Super Light welter Weight fight with Dragon Kidega at Little flowers this Saturday.

“I start my day with road work in Kalerwe and Northen By-pass before embarking on gym work under a close supervision of my manager and ex-boxers at Bwaise boxing gym”stated Sempewo who added that he will be shifting to Kampala Boxing Club Gym with a few days to the fight for more sparring sessions.

The title fell vacant after Solomon Bogere’s failure to defend it.Bogere beat Kidega in 2006 at Little Flowers Bombo Road to win the national title and he again defended it two years later in 2008 stopping Ronny Katwalo with a first round knock out, but he failed to secure a new opponent till the stipulated time in which he has to defend it elapsed, implying the title falls vacant.

Sempewo, who in 2009 threw away the chance to win the then vacant East and Central Africa Super Light Weight belt after he lost to Bogere by an unanimous decision will be trying his luck again when he faces Kidega for the national title.

The fight organized by NARA promotions will take place on March 29th at Dance Floor in Nateete. The youthful fighter who record stands at 13 fights with 10 wins (5Kos) and three loses told the local media in an interview that he has upped his training ahead of the much anticipated bout that will be curtain-raised with seven under card fights.

The under cards will see Nicolas Buule take on Mathias Bulega in the heavy weight contest, Mudde Ntambi against Musa Mugisha in the middle weight category while Suuna Wilberforce will be taking on Frank Kiwalabye in the light heavy category.
