Aga Khan junior school retained their overall crown at the 8th Aga Khan Junior Swimming Championships at Kololo on Saturday in-front of a cheering swimming arena.
Aga Khan retained the title with 265 points and winning their own swimming championship for a record fifth time having previously won it in 2008,2009,2011 and 2013.
“It was great effort from the swimmers and we enjoyed this win,” Muzafaru Muwanguzi, the coach of the winning side said. “The championship had alot stiff competitive races and we stood tall for all our challengers.”
Daffodils finished runner-up with 114 points while 2010 winners Kampala International School of Uganda was third with 100 points. Kampala Parents School and Kampala Junior Academy completed the top five positions with 95 and 78 points respectively.
The one day swimming championship which is one of the biggest events on the Uganda Swimming Federation calendar attracted 400 swimmers from nine schools with a total of 49 events.
