Nemostars captain George Aporu will finally joined the paid ranks in Tunisia after reigning African champions Esperance signed him on a three year deal. Aporu who returned this week from the competition that saw Nemostars finish 17th out of 23 teams will fly out this weekend to finalize the deal.

“The two years I have played on the continent have exposed me to better clubs,” Aporu said. “When Esperance approached me, I sent them to Old Coach (Neko Muduse-Ojala) who agreed terms with them and blessed me to move,” he added

The development means that Nemostars will start their title defense against KAVC on Saturday without their most important player for the last three seasons. “Nemostars will always be my first love, and without a doubt am going to miss them, but they are a good side who can still keep up there even without me,” Aporu added

Two-time Uganda Sports Press Association male volleyball player of the year has guided Nemostars to two league titles, one national Club championship title and close to 15 open tournament titles. Happy Fools Day
