Uganda’s representatives at the Women Africa Volleyball Club Championships Ndejje Elites have been affected by the postponement of the league commencement according to coach Johnson Kawenyera. Ndejje who leave for Carthage Tunisia on April 17 had three league games against Nkumba, UCU Lady Doves and Thunder lineup
But looks like the side will travel with their only serious Competition coming from their own Ndejje Open and Malaba Open Championships last month. “We thought we would use our league games to experiment on a few things,” said Kawenyera. “We never got a clear reason why the league was postponed and we are still waiting for formal communication,” he added.
kawowo.com has learnt that the reason the league was postponed is because Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) is in negotiations will potential partners who are yet to come on board as sponsors. “We are still in talks with some people and they asked for more time since they wanted to start with us from the onset, that is why we postponed the league why two weeks,” said UVF’s head of competitions head Juma Osunge.
Ndejje qualified to play on the continent after winning the national league for the second time and were ranked eighth out of 17 teams at their maiden appearance in Antananarivo Madagascar last year.
