Uganda Cranes Head Coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sedrojevic has echoed his readiness and determination to see Uganda make it to the AFCON 2015 finals in Morocco.

“Since 1978, it has been bad news for Uganda. Every Ugandan is eager to see Cranes make it once once again.” Micho told reporters at the Federation head offices in Mengo on Thursday.

The AFCON 2015 Uganda Cranes campaign is dubbed “The Road to Morocco.” Micho is expected to name the team squad on 28th April 2014, just a day after, CAF announcing the draws from which Uganda’s opponent will be known.

CAF has already released the match dates for the first two matches May 16th – 18th May (first leg) and May 30th – June 1st (for the return leg).

Incase Cranes qualify to the next round, they will be drawn for the 3rd preliminary round where 14 teams divided into two (7 Vs 7) play each other on a home and away knock out basis which games will be played between July 18th – 20th (First leg) and August 1st – 3rd (second leg).

The seven winners of the ties will then join the 21 teams seeded in the seven groups with group matches set to be played on Fridays/Saturdays and Wednesdays.

The first and second from the seven groups will automatically qualify for the finals in Morocco joined by the third best in all groups and hosts Morocco to make the 16 teams.

Meanwhile, the FUFA Super league which was earlier scheduled to climax on 16th May 2014 has been thus brought forward and will end on Tuesday, 6th May 2014. “We want to give ample time to the national team players to prepare adequately”, Mujib Kasule the FUFA ‘Technical’ Vice president said.
