Until he finally secures a foreign based club, Uganda Cranes and Vipers football club striker Yunus ‘Manucho’ Sentamu will not settle down.

As you read this, the player is in the Democratic Republic of Congo for trials and talks pending an eminent move to AS Vita football club.

Sentamu, who was the star for the Cranes at the 2014 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN), travelled to DR Congo over the weekend together with SC Vipers Club Secretary Haruna Kyobe.

The 19-year-old striker, who scored against Burkina Faso and Morocco at the CHAN event, has been a target of several clubs, especially in the South African PSL. He even had trials with AmaZulu over a month ago.

“Yes, Sentamu is not with us, he left for DR Congo and we wish him the best ,” SC Vipers Club Chairman Thadeus Kitandwe.

He is however expected to return back to Kampala at the start of next week after concluding the deal, another source reveals.

As Vita fully facilitated Kyobe and Sentamu’s travel, accommodation and feeding expenses. They are also faciliating the the per diem allowances for the duo.

“We are now having talks with the AS Vita Club management over a possible transfer in June,” added Kitandwe.

The DR Congo team is in the group stage of the lucrative CAF Champions League after seeing off South African Champions Kaizer Chiefs 3-2 on aggregate last month.

Sentamu’s missed Vipers’ 1 -2 loss to table leaders KCC FC in a FUFA Super League match on Tuesday at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Until March 7th 2014, when he featured for Vipers against Entebbe f.c, Sentamu had not played any competitive game ever since his January positive CHAN exploits where he was among the tournament’s top scorers (with 3 goals).

He netted Vipers’ winning goal against Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) in the league on 21st March 2014 at Buikwe Stadium.

He held football trials with South Africana Premier league club, Amazulu.
