Uganda Sports Press Association landed a remarkable three year renewal sponsorship deal with Nile Breweries Limited this morning at the Imperial Royale Hotel this morning.
The deal that is a major milestone and huge increament to the sports scribes body from 130 million shillings for the last two years to Ugsh 230 million annually which makes it Ugsh 460million for two years of the contract.
“As a brand, Uspa is one of our flagship sponsorships. This is because of the professional relationship we have had working alongside each other. Special thanks go to the executive that has been highly transparent in all its transactions, keeping us abreast of all necessary developments,” Isaac Sekasi the sponsorship manager of Nile Breweries said.
He added that; “So to us the question was not whether or not to extend the partnership, but rather by how much the sponsorship package was to be increased. This is because as men and ladies of honour and honesty, salient virtues embraced by our brand, the Uspa executive indeed earned our trust.”
The leading brewery that has sponsored several sports activities that include Basketball, Rugby, Volleyball, Boxing, Golf, Football will in the sponsorship breakdown sponsor the USPA monthly dinners to a tune of 84 million with a retainer of 15 million the annual gala will cost 125 million while the monthly awards are 6 million.
“As journalists, virtues such as honesty, trustworthiness and all that fall under these lines are highly upheld and we promise to continue as such. As per the sponsorship we shall be able to do much more, all to the development of the sports journalism in this country,” Mark Namanya, the Uganda Sports Press Association president said.
The sponsorship comes in the wake of the Nile Special Uganda Sports Press Association gala that is due on April 26 at Imperial Royale Hotel.
