As the FUFA Big league returns this evening, Rwezori group side, Baza Holdings will be hoping to take advantage of a game in hand (against Wandegeya) to get top.

“The Big league is so competitive but we play each match as a final”, Baza coach, Video Anyau.

Baza Holdings, currently second on 35 points, they will be hosting Wandegeya (7th with 19 points) at Villa Park Stadium, Nsambya.

Charles Ssemanda’s strike way back in October won the game for Baza Holdings at Kitezzi in the first leg.

3 points in the bag for Baza will see Video Anyau’s side go to the top of the Rwenzori group (on 38 points), just a point above the current log leaders, Lweza (37 points).

In the other game to be played at Buziga Islamic school, Artland Katale, currently occupying 6th on 20 points hosts 3rd placed Mutundwe Lions (on 27 points).

In the Elgon group, with Sadolin Paints Bugembe already through to the FUFA Super league, the rest of the teams in this group are playing for the available 2 play off slots.

Jinja Municipal, one of the teams in contention travel to the Mbale Municipal stadium to face home side, Mbale Heroes. 

Jinja Municipal is fighting to play catch up to second placed KJT/Rwenshama and 3rd Krirnya/Jinja s.s while Mbale Heroes is fighting relegation alongside the other two teams playing in Soroti when Soroti Garage will host Hope Doves .

The two top sides gain automatic qualification to FUFA Super league while the 1st and 2nd runners up are engaged in play offs to determine the 3rd team.
